Roll into STEM robotics fun! Over three exciting days, campers will work with a partner to code Sphero — a robotic ball that rolls — using an iPad, building problem-solving, teamwork, and critical thinking skills through hands-on games and challenges.

This STEM-focused robotics camp is designed for up to 20 students who have already completed Robotics Camp I or have had at least 1 year of experience on an FLL team. Students will build a robot with LEGO bricks, gears, axles, motors, and sensors. Expanding their usage of sensors and creating loops in the programming will be a focus. These new skills will be used to “train” the robot to complete challenges. Like Robotics I, this camp will also have a closing program.

This camp is taught by Sinclair’s National UAS Training and Certification Center, giving students expert guidance from certified drone instructors. Campers will explore the exciting technologies and uses of drones, careers in the field, safety risk assessments, and concepts of operations. They will also fly simulators and real aircraft, program flights, build components and repair a drone, conduct missions, analyze airborne-collected data, and complete fun challenges, including aerial obstacle courses and scavenger hunts.

Date: June 1-5

This STEM-focused robotics camp is designed to teach up to 20 students concepts in science, technology, mechanics, engineering, and computer programming by building a robot with LEGO bricks, gears, axles, motors, and sensors. The students will program the robot to move forward, backward, and turn. They will also build attachments that can be moved up or down by a motor. These components will be combined to have the robot complete challenges. They will demonstrate their accomplishments to parents and friends on the last night of camp at the closing program.

Experience the excitement of aerodynamics! This 5-day course begins with a basic history of manned flight and what makes things fly. The students build kites, gliders, hot-air balloons, and various aircraft models. They experiment with thrust, drag, and lift; study the engine, controls, and instruments; do flight planning; fly a radio-controlled airplane and quadcopters, and end the week with an orientation flight in a general aviation aircraft! Flight groups are composed of 4 students and one “flight crew.”

Does your curious child love to take things apart, figure out how they work, and design new creations? Your little Einstein will explore engineering by designing, building, testing, and improving unique projects, following the full engineering design process.

This course, designed by NASA, invites young aviators to actively participate in a collection of STEM learning activities based on aviation-themed children’s books. Hands-on activities will engage campers as they explore lift, drag, thrust, weight, and more using gliders, balloons, parachutes, kites, helicopters, and airplanes—making discoveries through play and experimentation!
