Wings on Strings Annual Kite Fly

Each year, the sky becomes a canvas of color and creativity as kites fill the skies at the WACO Field. Co-sponsored by the Troy Noon Optimist Club and the WACO Education Center & Air Museum, this annual event invites families to slow down, spread out a picnic blanket, and enjoy the simple magic of kites dancing in the breeze.

Bring your favorite kite from home, or make an easy-to-fly plastic kite right here at the event! Our friendly volunteers will help you every step of the way—and best of all, making a kite is completely free.

Young flyers (ages 15 and under) can join in friendly competitions with prizes in four playful categories:

• Youngest Flyer – for the tiniest kite pilot

• Best Decorated – where creativity takes center stage

• Best Family Entry – teamwork makes the dream fly

• Best Store-Bought Kite – show off your high-flying favorite
