This program is for kids (ages 6-10 years old) who are interested in science and technology.
Each team has at least one coach and an assistant coach and has up to 8 team members. The teams participate in a Challenge set forth by FIRST. Each child will participate in activities that develop team working skills, as they strive to solve a real world problem with science and math. Each team member will take part in exploring challenges that face today’s scientist. Together the team will make a poster to present their solution to the challenge. They will use their presentation skills to inform a panel of judges of their possible solution. Additionally, the team will design and build a model using LEGO components with motorized parts.
Being on a FLL team requires a commitment to the team and the other team members. This requires regular meeting attendance and prep for the meetings outside of the regular meeting time. It is also a very rewarding experience of learning to work together as a team to find solutions. It provides a spirit of friendly competition with other FLL teams.
The FLL season begins in September with a competition in February.
If you are interested in being considered for one of our teams, complete the application and return to WACO. Registration/participation fee is $125.
Corporate sponsorships for FLL Robotics are $500
