PRESERVING THE PAST...INSPIRING THE FUTURE!
AVIATION LECTURE SERIES PRESENTS:
“MY FATHER WAS A GLIDER PILOT IN WWII”
presented by Greg Hills
Thursday, April 20, 2023: Doors open at 6:30PM, presentation starts at 7:00PM
In this presentation I will give you a description of what my father did as a glider pilot in the invasion of Holland during the operation, “Market Garden”, September 18th, 1944. Many descriptions will be from his own words. Some of my research came from the book, “We are the 29th! Troop Carrier Squadron – WWII by Col. Joseph Harkiewicz. My Dad wrote excerpts in the book and helped edit the final copy. He was also an author of an article in the Saturday Evening Post on Nov. 5th 1949 named, “What a Beating our Gliders Took!”.
Robert F. Hills as a writer, director and producer.
